Interlibrary Loan On-Campus Guide

This Guide shows how to make a request for books, other physical media, and journal articles through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Is there a fee for the Interlibrary Loan service?

Normally, there are no fees.  On certain occasions, however, the lending library may charge a small fee.  In such cases, we will notify you before proceeding.

How will I know when my materials have arrived?

You will be notified by e-mail from the ILL Staff when your materials arrive.

Articles will be attached to the e-mail with instructions on how to access them.

Books may be picked up at the circulation desk.

How long does it take to receive materials?

ILL Staff do their best to get the requested items to you as efficiently as possible.

On average, once a request is placed,  articles take around 3-5 days, and books normally take between 5-10 days.

How long is the loan period?

Articles delivered electronically do not need to be returned.

For books, the average loan period is one month, unless the lender designates otherwise.  Renewals are determined by the lending library and do not exceed one renewal.
