How to Cite Your Sources

Proper citations are essential when writing a research paper. By ensuring that you have accurate information, formatted in the correct way, you allow your readers to find the sources that you used.

Many social science disciplines use the APA format for citing sources. Please refer to the library's research guide on APA Style, 7th edition for more information.

If you need additional help, feel free to contact someone at the Reference Desk.

Citation Management

There are several different citation management programs that can help you manage and format your citations. While there are several options available online, Regis offers free access to RefWorks. The research guide on RefWorks provides a full outline on how to sign up for and use the web-based software.

If you use automatically generated citations, do not forget to double-check your citations and make edits and corrections as needed.
