Regis College's AI Policy

This is what is stated in the Academic Catalog, under General University Policies and Procedures (Academic Integrity section):

"Misrepresenting as your own any material produced by a computer program or artificial intelligence website or service"

Your Professor's Policies

The bottom line is: if you have any questions about using generative artificial intelligence (AI) in your course, look in your syllabus or ask your professor! Your professor will determine what is appropriate and not appropriate use, based on the learning outcomes of your course.

Various policies you may see:

  • AI-use is acceptable for certain tasks (e.g. brainstorming ideas) or even certain assignments.
  • AI-use is not acceptable for certain tasks (e.g. writing) or assignments (e.g. your final paper).
  • You may be permitted to use AI for certain tasks or assignments, but with requirements:
    • You disclose how you used an AI tool with citations and/or notes.
    • You include a copy of the prompt and conversation you had with the AI tool.

Make sure to follow any AI policies your professor has put in place for the course, so as to not be in violation. Failure to follow the policies may affect your grade or status in the course!

Academic integrity is about being honest in your scholarship and building trust with your community-- and this includes your use of AI!
