Poster Presentations - How to Guide: Getting Started

What is a Poster Presentation?

A poster presentation or poster session is the presentation of your research or project to others in the academic community.   It is a way to communicate with people about your work and to publicize it.  While the poster itself is visual, you, as the presenter, accompany the poster with an oral presentation about your work.  This is a dialog with one or a few attendees at a time.   A poster presentation can take place at various venues, such as a campus fair at Regis or at a scientific conference.
