About the Tutorial

This tutorial is designed for the student who is new to database searching or needs a refresher.

The goals of this tutorial are to learn:

  • Which databases to use for your search
  • How to choose the best search terms (keywords)
  • How to use database limiters to refine your search
  • How to view your results (your articles)

  1. The tutorial uses an example in the database CINAHL to show you how to search for nursing literature.

  2. It is interactive, meaning you will have an opportunity to try a search yourself.  This is optional, however.

  3. Before you begin, make sure you have your Regis username and password on hand.
