Social Work

Academic E-Books

Regis provides access to hundreds of e-books on social work topics through our databases. Use the Powersearch to find e-books on the topic you are researching.

You can enter keywords into the box at the top of the page. Also, you can use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow down your results. To limit your search to e-books, go to "Types of Sources" in the filters and check off e-books.

On-Campus Course Reserves

Many books in the catalog have a designation of Course Reserves. These books have a two hour loan time. If you find one of these books in the catalog and want to check it out, please ask for it at the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library.

On-campus Print Books

We have a number of print books available for check out in the library.

Regis uses the Library of Congress system to organize books. This system organizes books by subject.

Many books on social work are located in the HV section which includes social pathology; social and public welfare; and criminology. There are also books on topics related to social work in other sections.

If you need help finding books, you can contact the Reference Desk.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)  is a service that allows students to request journal articles that the Regis College Library does not own from other institutions. ILL is available for Regis College students, faculty and staff and is usually free.

There are two ways to make a request. 1) You can find links to an Interlibrary Loan request form under journal articles that we do not subscribe to. You will see a link like this:   below any articles that are not owned by Regis. Using this link is the most efficient way to request an article because the citation gets copied into the form from the database. You need only add your contact information. 2) The request forms are also available under the Services section of the Library web site.

On average, journal articles are received within three business days.
