Regis' Commitment

Regis College has pledged to make Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) a priority in the short-term, as well as part of the long-term strategic plans for the institution. Start in these places to learn more about campus resources and information:

What is Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI)?

Diversity is the existence of different races, ethnic/cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, abilities/disabilities, etc. and celebrating these differences.

Equity is recognizing these differences and practicing fairness and impartiality. In contrast, "equality" means everyone gets the same treatment. Equity means to meet everyone where they are, based on their differences.

Inclusion is ensuring that those from diverse backgrounds feel they are being included and are invited to fully be a part of the community.

Understanding Intersectionality

Intersectionality is a way of looking at discrimination and privilege that incorporates all aspects of a person's identity. These videos explain it best, including one from Kimberlé Crenshaw-- the scholar who coined the term.
